A blood vesicle score for liver fibrosis, organoid-checked
Circulating extracellular vesicles from sheep with a Fontan circulation carry a small RNA signature that predicts liver fibrosis severity with an AUC of 0.963 for severe disease, beating the standard blood indices. A human liver organoid exposed to TGF-beta confirms the direction of several scoring miRNAs, but one marker disagrees, and that disagreement is the interesting part.

Ferritin loss exposes an iron-toxicity vulnerability in medulloblastoma
Ferritin heavy-chain deletion does not kill medulloblastoma cells basally but collapses their tolerance to iron overload. In transformed cerebral organoids, high-dose vitamin C exploits the same ferritin-dependent buffering limit, eliminating OTX2/c-Myc tumor cells through a non-ferroptotic, iron-dependent mechanism.

Huntington PRD swap reshapes toxicity in cortical organoids
The proline-rich domain of huntingtin exon 1 is a species-specific modifier of toxicity. Swapping the human PRD into mouse mutant exon 1 worsens neural cyst and neuronal phenotypes, while swapping the mouse PRD into human mutant exon 1 rescues dendritic growth and MKL2 levels.
